How to Build a Sales Funnel

How to Build a Sales Funnel

What is a sales funnel?

Sales funnels are one of the most effective ways to increase conversions and grow your business. By definition, a sales funnel is “a process or path that leads customers to purchase a product or service.” In other words, it’s the process that you take your potential customers through on your way to making a sale.

Stages of a Sales Funnel

There are a number of different stages that a potential customer will go through during a sales funnel, and it’s important to understand each stage in order to create an effective funnel for your business.

Stage 1: Awareness

The first stare of a funnel is awareness. This is where you cast a wide net for potential customers through your marketing channels. You capture their attention with something FREE that they must opt in to receiving.

Stage 2: Interest

The second stage of the sales funnel is interest. This is when the potential customer starts to become interested in what you have to offer. They love the freebie you've sent them and they want to learn more. You can cultivate that interest by nurturing the relationship. Follow up emails, dms, or text messages.

Stage 3: Decision

The third stage of the sales funnel is decision. This is when the potential customer decides whether or not they are going to purchase your product or service. They may compare your product to similar products on the market, or they may read reviews to help them make their decision.

Stage 4: Purchase

The fourth and final stage of the sales funnel is purchase. This is when the customer actually buys your product or service. Now that you understand the different stages of the sales funnel, let’s take a look at how you can build an effective sales funnel for your business.

4 key FUNNEL elements

There are a few key elements that you need to include in your sales funnel in order to make it effective.

1. Lead Magnet

The first element is a lead magnet. A lead magnet is a freebie that you offer potential customers in exchange for their contact information. It could be a PDF guide, an e-book, a video series, or anything else that would be valuable to your potential customers.

2. Tripwire

The second element is a tripwire. A tripwire is a low-cost product that you offer potential customers after they’ve taken your lead magnet. The purpose of the tripwire is to get customers to take action and buy from you.

3. Core Offer

The third element is a core offer. This is your main product or service that you offer potential customers. The tripwire should lead into your core offer.

4. One-time high ticket offer

The fourth and final element is a one-time offer. A one-time offer is a special offer that you make to potential customers who are about to purchase your core offer. The purpose of the one-time offer is to get customers to buy from you now instead of later. Now that you know the four key elements of an effective sales funnel, let’s take a look at how you can put it all together.

Put it all together!

The first step is to create your lead magnet. Remember, your lead magnet needs to be something that is valuable to your potential customers. Once you’ve created your lead magnet, you need to promote it.

Start with your lead magnet...

You can promote your lead magnet by creating a landing page, running ads, or using social media. Once people have taken your lead magnet, they should be taken to your tripwire.

Nurture relationships and build trust...

Your tripwire should be a low-cost product that leads into your core offer. Once people have taken your tripwire, they should be taken to your core offer.

Warm them up for your CORE OFFER

Your core offer is your main product or service. Once people have taken your core offer, you can make a one-time offer.

A one-time offer is a special offer that you make to potential customers who are about to purchase your core offer. The purpose of the one-time offer is to get customers to buy from you now instead of later.

One-time offers can be a discount, a bonus, or anything else that would be valuable to your potential customers.

Put your FUNNEL to work!

Now that you know how to build a sales funnel, you can start putting it into action for your business. Remember to start with a lead magnet, then promote your lead magnet, offer a tripwire, lead into your core offer, and make a one-time offer. If you do all of these things, you’ll be well on your way to increasing your conversions and growing your business.
